Dear Client,
And so it goes---We really thought 2009 would be a better year. So now, we optimistically look to 2010 as the turn around year. Keep your fingers crossed.
But now it is time to prepare for taxes, and there have been a lot of tax changes this year both Federal and State. Also available on our website are Organizer Checklists. They are simple reminders about tax items that would be necessary for preparing the most accurate tax return possible. Obviously, we can’t include every situation, but is a good tickler to jog your memory of items that might be pertinent to your specific tax return. Please review them carefully.
In addition, we will need the following information:
- Forms W-2 & 1099
- Brokerage statements showing investment transactions for stocks, bonds, etc.
- Schedule K-1 from Partnerships, S Corporations, Estates, and Trusts
- Sales Tax paid on any major purchases (e.g. auto, truck, boat, etc.)
- DMV paid
- Union dues
- Property tax statements
- Forms 1098 for mortgage interest
- Any tax notices sent to you by the IRS or the State
- A copy of your income tax return from last year
- A voided check for your Direct Deposit account
Some of you have already made your tax appointments. For those who haven’t yet, be sure to call at least a week or two prior in order to get the appointment time that best meets your needs.
Our office hours are:
- Mon, Wed, & Friday 8:30a.m. to 6:00p.m.
- Tuesday & Thursday 8:30a.m. to 7:00p.m.
- Saturday 8:30a.m. to 1:00p.m.
If you have any questions that need to be answered prior to our meeting, feel free to email or call and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I am looking forward to seeing you soon.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Teders Glassman, E.A.
